Artist Bio:

Kaushiki Chakraborty

One of India’s foremost Hindustani classical vocalists, Kaushiki Chakraborty carries the luminous legacy of the Patiala gharana as the daughter and disciple of Padma Bhushan Pandit Ajoy Chakraborty. Trained at the ITC Sangeet Research Academy under the guidance of her father and the late Pt. Jnan Prakash Ghosh. She commands a voice of extraordinary range, spanning three-and-a-half octaves, delivered with effortless taans and deep emotional resonance. Her vast repertoire moves fluidly across khayal, thumri, dadra, and Carnatic forms, reflecting a musicianship both rooted and wide-ranging. At just 25, she received the BBC Radio 3 Award for World Music, hailed as “one of the brightest emerging artists in Indian vocal music.” She has since earned the Sangeet Natak Akademi’s Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar and performed at Carnegie Hall, the Sawai Gandharva Bhimsen Mahotsav, and premier stages worldwide. She is widely celebrated as the torchbearer of the Patiala tradition.

Ojas Adiya

A prodigy of rare distinction, Ojas Adhiya was drawn to the tabla from infancy, teaching himself the eight-beat keherwa taal and debuting publicly at age four,  earning a place in the Limca Book of Records as India’s youngest tabla artist. Born in rural Maharashtra, he moved to Mumbai to study classical tabla under Shri Mridangraj of the Ajrada gharana, deepening his craft while also exploring jazz, ghazal, and Carnatic rhythm. Shaped by the towering examples of Ustad Zakir Hussain, Pandit Swapan Chaudhuri, and Pandit Anindo Chatterjee, Ojas balances exuberance with restraint in a style that belies his years. Today he accompanies leading Hindustani vocalists and instrumentalists on major stages worldwide, while firmly establishing himself as a captivating solo voice.

Suhail Yusuf Khan

A hereditary sarangi master and grandson of the legendary Ustad Sabri Khan, Suhail Yusuf Khan carries one of Hindustani music’s most distinguished lineages. Trained by his uncle Kamal Sabri and later by his grandfather himself, he commands a depth of nuance and ornament rare among players of his generation. With over 25 years of experience, he is equally at home in classical and fusion settings – from India’s concert halls to Glastonbury, his musical range spanning jazz, rock, and Qawwali. He holds a Ph.D. in Ethnomusicology from Wesleyan University and served as a Fellow at the Yale Institute of Sacred Music.

Kedar Naphade

A disciple of the legendary Late Pt. Tulsidas Borkar, Kedar Naphade has devoted himself to Hindustani classical harmonium since the age of nine. He also trained under Late Smt. Padmavati Shaligram-Gokhale of the Atrauli-Jaipur gharana, whose influence deepened his love for the vocal art. With performances at Lincoln Center, the Smithsonian, and venues across India, Europe, and North America and featured on NPR, Kedar has shared the stage with luminaries including Pt. Jasraj, Smt. Prabha Atre, and Smt. Kaushiki Chakraborty.
