Pt. Sandip Chatterjee

Pt. Sandip Chatterjee is a distinguished santoor maestro celebrated for his mastery of the Maihar and Patiala gharanas. He is a disciple of Pt. Tarun Bhattacharya and vocal maestro Pt. Ajoy Chakraborty. He is known for his innovative approach to the santoor, blending intricate ragas with dynamic rhythmic patterns and bringing a new dimension to traditional Indian classical music. His expressive and technically refined style has made him a prominent figure in both solo and collaborative performances, crossing genres and pushing boundaries.

In addition to traditional classical concerts, Pt. Chatterjee has engaged in a range of fusion projects, including Calcutta Express, where he merges jazz and world music with Indian classical, earning international acclaim. His versatility and artistic contributions have been recognized with numerous accolades, such as the President of India Award and Jadubhatta Award. A seasoned performer, he has captivated audiences globally, sharing the rich heritage of Indian music with an innovative touch that resonates across cultural lines. 

Pandit Ramdas Palsule is a renowned tabla maestro from Pune, India, celebrated for his expertise as both a soloist and an accompanist in Hindustani classical music. A senior disciple of the illustrious Taalyogi Pandit Suresh Talwalkar, Palsule has performed at prestigious festivals and concerts worldwide. His innovative approach combines the traditional tabla repertoire with a unique perspective that highlights complex rhythmic structures, such as “Jod-Taal” and “Jaati-Bhed,” marking him as an influential figure in modern tabla performance.

Over the years, Palsule has accompanied many eminent artists, including Pandit Jasraj, Pandit Shivkumar Sharma, Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, and Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia. His versatility allows him to excel in both classical and collaborative settings across a range of instruments and styles. Besides his performance career, he is deeply involved in music education as a guru at the Lalit Kala Kendra at Pune University and Bharti Vidyapeeth School of Performing Arts. Additionally, he contributes to international cultural exchange as an empaneled artist with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) and regularly organizes classical music events in North America and Europe
