Known for the depth of his khayal gayaki and his versatility across forms such as thumri, bhajan, and devotional music, he has performed at prestigious venues around the world and released numerous recordings spanning both classical and semi-classical genres. His contributions to Indian music have been recognized with several honors, including the Padma Shri (2011) and the Padma Bhushan (2020).
